Halifax have a strong cross country presence within the West Yorkshire League and the Yorkshire, Northern and National competitions.
Cross Country Training on most Sundays over the winter at Savile Park (see your coach for details).
The Junior Age Groups will change for Cross Country on 1 October 2026 to align with the UKA Age Group Changes to U12/U14/U16/U18. Further details will be published in the summer.
The cross country point system is aimed at showing the importance that Halifax Harriers attaches to the Yorkshire, Northern and National competitions.
1 - West Yorkshire points will be 7 for the 1st finisher, 6 for 2nd finisher etc
2 - Yorkshires will be 8 points for 1st, 7 for 2nd, 6 for 3rd etc
3 - Northerns will be 9 points for 1st, 8 for 2nd etc
4 - Nationals will be 10 points for 1st, 9 for 2nd etc
U/11's only have four races and and the points from their best 3 races will count for the Club Championships.
All other ages will contend seven races, with the points from their best 5 races to count for the Club Championships (minimum of 3 races).
2025-2026 points after Nationals and final positionsWe encourage all U12s to seniors to take part in this local league. 5 races from October to February at different venues. Seperate races for male and female. Races start from 11.45am onwards.
Entry: £25 for 5 races. No Entries on the day. Closing date for 1st race is 4th October 2026. The Club will reimbuse the entry fee for each race completed after the season.
