Return of the club hut!
Before the new running track was constructed the Harriers had their own club hut at the side of the old 'sloping' grass track. The Halifax Harrier's club hut was demolished to make way for the new track when work began in 2005. During the construction of the new track the Harrier's temporarily moved to Savile Park and used an old storage container as the club base.Since the club returned to Spring Hall in September 2006 the gym has served the purpose of a meeting place, which whilst not ideal, has given club members a temporary home and much needed shelter from the elements over the winter months.
In 1989, construction started on a much larger hut which had been kindly donated to the Harriers, and which was re-erected adjacent to the track by club members.
Following a great deal of time and effort invested by club members, the hut was finally finished and proved to serve the Harrier's well up until being demolished in 2005.
The Harrier's hut is shown here with an uncommissioned piece of artwork, perfomed by a local artist whose identity remains unknown.
During the development of the Shay football ground, a portable function room was erected for hospitality use whilst the permanent facilities were being built.
As this portable function room is now no longer required at the Shay (pictured here), it is to be transferred to Spring Hall for use as the Harrier's club hut.

Initial work has begun on providing the services and foundations for the hut, and it is anticipated that the new club hut will be ready in April 2010.
