Fell running Fell racing is an extreme form of off-road racing that involves steep climbs and descents, and often crosses exposed open moorland. Many races (particularly in winter or poor weather) require runners to carry full warm/waterproof body cover during the race, and you may need to carry/use a map and compass. Because of the nature of fell running, most races have a minimum race age of 18, though some of the shorter races are open to those aged 14+ or 16+. The Halifax Harriers Fell club champs is open to all paid-up full club members aged 14 and above. Club vests must be worn. Read Garth Burrell's race report from Bunny Run 2 held on Tuesday 8th April. If you fancy giving fell running a go, speak to either Mick Fryer (Mens captain), Carole Fryer (Ladies Captain), Heath Reilly or Andy Thorpe down at the club to find out more.
