West Yorkshire Cross Country Championships 2010
Saturday 30th October 2010
The second race of the West Yorkshire Cross Country race was held at Fartown High School Huddersfield on Sat 30th Oct 2010, once again Halifax Harriers put in a good performance. Halifax team positions were 1-2nd 2-3rd and 3-4ths, which is excellent performance. The Halifax athlete’s race positions and times are as follows.
Under 11 boys
W. Strange was the highest place runner coming in 17th position. In the overall team result Halifax was 4th with 109 points. Times and positions were;
- 17th W. Strange 6.19min
- 40th J. Whitehouse 7.39min
- O.Bullick 28th 6.42min
- 24th E. Bullick 6.31min
Under 11 girls
Elicia MCadam excelled coming in 4th position. The Halifax team position was placed 4th overall. Placings were;
- 4th E. MCadam 6.36min
- 20th L.Mills 7.16min
- 25th J.Northcott 7.34min
- 28th L.Chapman 7.45min
Under 13 boys
U13 boys only had 2 runners both runners came in the top 20 out of 49 runners which was a good performance, with the extra runner we would be in the top four for the overall team positions. Placing’s and times were;
- 13th M. Sylvester 13.52min
- 18th M.Cowton 14.18min
Under 13 girls
U13 Girls runners were in good form with Megan Berriman coming in third place and Molly Travis in fourth place. Amy Cowton improved on her last race by 7 places coming in 36th place. Halifax came in 3rd place in the overall team positions. Position’s and times as follows;
- 3rd M. Berriman 11.09min
- 4th Molly Travis 11.10min
- 36th Amy Cowton 13.28min
Under 15 boys
Max Wharton and Jarome Castlelow were again among the top 10 runners ably supported by Cieran Wilson-Baig, Edan Whitelaw and Alex Bradley. The overall team position was 3rd. Times and position’s are as follows;
- 3rd M.Wharton 14.43min
- 8th Jarome Castlelow 15.10min
- 25th Cieron Wilson-Baige 16.26min
- 33rd Alex Bradley 16.40min
Under 15 girls
U15 Girls Athlete Molly Jagger had a great run coming in 14th place improving her place by 7 places and 2 mins on her previous time, which is down to her hard training in previous weeks. With the 3 athletes coming the top 20 Halifax were 4th in the overall team positions. Well-done girls. Athletes places and times as follows;

- 15th H. Callaghan 14.56min
- 19th C. Johnson 15.22min
Under 17 biys
3 athletes places counting for a team position Halifax came second in the overall team positions. Roberts, Travis, and Crossfield counting for the places. Koe Crossfield just missed out in 22nd place. Athletes places and times as follows;

- 11th B. Travis 19.50min
- 21st M. Gladstone 21.57min
- 22nd K. Crossfield 21.58min
