U17s Cross Country
Although there were only 3 runners representing the Harriers at the under 17 level, they were all great performances. Hannah Wood ran a swift 17.18 and had her highest ever placing of 4th place in the under 17 womens race, starting her season in style. In the under 17 mens race, Steven Bayton transferred his fell talents to the cross country and ran a superb 5th, just 22 seconds behind the race winner. Tom Sutcliffe was in very soon after in a creditable 16th place. The second race at Bramley was again only represented by 3 U17 runners. In the U17 women, Hannah Wood carried on her good form and finished in a strong 8th position overall in 18.34, just a shade over a minute behind the race winner. Although not accustomed to the distance and terrain, middle distance track runner Louise Royston decided to have a go at the cross country, and finished in a creditable 17th place overall. Paul Willis was the sole performer for the U17 men completing the tricky course in 28th place overall. In the 3rd race at York, we had just two club runners. Louise Royston ran a great race race for the U17 women, finishing 12th in 17.04, and Steven Bayton was 9th overall in a swift 15.48.
