The route then eases slightly as you cross a section of Midgley Moor, then drop down to High House Lane in Luddenden Dean. The route then bears left and you run up the bridletrack towards the head of the valley. After passing under the gatehouses at the head of the track, the route then climbs left up the steep steps at Hough Dean. At the top you then follow the flags straight across Dimmin Dale Edge before picking up the Calderdale Way (part of leg 4 CWR!) across the top of the golf course and back to Cock Hill and Wicken Hill.
